2017 College Football Championship Alabama vs Clemson Odds Preview

It’s a rematch of the same game as last year when the Roll Tide beat out the Clemson Tigers in Arizona. This year the game takes place in Tampa, Florida at Raymond James Stadium on January 9, 2017 at 8:00 PM eastern standard time. If you can’t score tickets to the game then watch from your favorite Las Vegas, Nevada sportsbook or at home on ESPN.

Nick Saban is looking to bring home another national championship. After finishing a perfect 8-0 in SEC play and 14-0 in the season they have trampled all competition along the way. The one exception is one of the few instances when this dominant team was down early to the University of Washington Huskies in the Peach Bowl on December 31st. That 7-0 deficit didn’t last very long. The roll Tide got aggressive and Chris Petersen’s offense and Bo Scarborough took over and covered the -14 point spread any not giving up any other points.

The Clemson Tigers on the other hand are led by Dabo Swinney at 13-1 and losing only 1 ACC conference game this season. Clemson is looking red hot after destroying the Ohio State Buyckeyes 31-0 (Another big bowl win for Jon Price) in the Fiesta Bowl. After 28 years of ACC play the Tigers have clinched conference titles back to back and Deshaun Watson wants to avenge last years loss by bringing back the trophy for the first time since 1981.

Fighting against them however is a prideful Alabama team looking for it’s 2nd in a row and 5th in 8 years.

BCS Championship Game Breakdown & Preview

Washington got destroyed and run over by Scarbrough. Lane Kiffin called for Scarbrough to play prime time and be front and center they ran away and never looked back. Thats key for Mondays game. A big first down on a counter call that was 3rd and 9 that led to a 68 yard touchdown run where he broke a couple of tackles on the outside and ran right past the entire Washington defense. He finsihed the game with 175 yards and an average of 13 yards per carry. This game will be based on Clemsons ability to stop the run and for their offense to find a way to break out against defensive stars Tim Williams and Ryan Anderson. Clemson comes into the game confident as ever for a team that barely lost last year. Defensive end Clelin Ferrell will be looking to connect with J.T. Barrett who will not have as much time in the pocket as he did last game with an aggressive Crimson Tide defense. Watson had some great runs and will be looking to make big plays to keep the game close.

Since the loss to Pitt this season, Swinney’s squad has more closely resembled last year’s team that nearly beat ‘Bama. Against Ohio State, it may have looked better than at any point this season. The Tigers played with a passion and focus that was not seen throughout much of the year. Freshman defensive end Clelin Ferrell lived in the Buckeyes’ backfield for much of the game, and the Tigers secondary clamped down on the Buckeyes receivers even when quarterback J.T. Barrett had time to throw. It’s tough to see this year’s Alabama team not hoisting the CFP trophy, but Watson alone gives the Tigers a chance to win any game no matter the type of adversity they may face.

Betting Pick take Clemson or Alabama?

The computer prediction models think that Alabama will win straight up but nobody can say if they will cover the spread. There is a climate this year that is a big factor. Should it rain in Tampa on gameday things will change. We will monitor everything and Jon Price will release his big play which he nailed last year for $325,000 and we hope that anybody reading this will ride the money train with him.
