Commonly referred to as “Busch Stadium III” or “New Busch Stadium”, Busch Stadium is a ballpark located in St. Louis, Missourri and serves as the home field for MLB’s St. Louis Cardinals.
The stadium replaced the previous home park for the Cardinals back during the start of the 2006 MLB Regular Season.
It’s commonly referred to as Busch Stadium III because it’s the third stadium to hold the Busch title in the city of St. Louis.
The stadium was constructed with a price tag go $344.8 million, but an extra $20.2 million was needed to complete the stadium, bringing the final cost to $365 million.

History
• Construction of the stadium took just over two years and the stadium was officially opened on April 10, 2006 when the Cardinals hosted and defeated the Milwaukee Brewers.
• The largest attendance ever achieved at the stadium wasn’t for a baseball game, but for an international soccer matchup between Chelsea and Manchester City on May 23, 2013 with 48,263 in attendance.
• Anheuser-Busch reached their naming rights deal with the team and the stadium’s management in 2004 which would extend from the 2006 season all the way to the 2026 season.
• The venue has been the host to a number of Playoff and World Series games over the years, and particularly within the last 5 years with postseason games in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015.
