The Baltimore Orioles will hit the road to travel to Los Angeles where they’ll start their longest road trip of the season thus far. They’re  leaving a 7 game home stand where after sweeping the Detroit Tigers, they only won 1 of a 3-game set with the first place Seattle Mariners.

The Orioles are currently sitting at 24-14 on the year, which is good enough for a share of first place in the American League East with the Boston Red Sox.

They’ll start their 3-game set with the Angels on Friday with Mike Wright going to the mound where he’ll face Hector Santiago for LA.

Wright has gone 1-1 with a no decision in his last 3 starts, while carrying a 4.50 ERA during those games. On the year he’s 2-3 with a 5.35 ERA and a WHIP of 1.359.

Santiago is also 1-1 with a no decision in his last 3, but is 3-2 overall on the season with a 3.42 ERA. The Mariners are 0-3 against Baltimore with Santiago on the hill, but he has yet to register a decision in any of those games and has a 2.12 ERA in those contests.

Inconsistency has been the plague for the Angels’ lineup thus far in the season, particularly of late, as they’ve batted 0.313 at the plate in the last 7 games. They’ll need that success to continue if they hope to catch a feisty Orioles team that is coming off a losing series at home.
