Super Bowl XLIX betting options

Super Bowl XLIX betting options

With this year’s Super Bowl XLIX right around the corner, we thought it would be a good time to share the latest betting options for those looking to cash in on Super Sunday.

For starters, the New England Patriots are currently favored by 1 point over the Seattle Seahawks, who opened as a 2.5 point favorite.

Apparently the deflated football controversy has had no effect on the betting market, but has showed up as a prop bet, with an over/under of three, in terms of how many times “Deflated” balls will be said during the game.

Being the favorites, New England could join the ranks of  33 of 48 Vegas favorites who have ended up winning  the Super Bowl. However, the underdog is 6-1 ATS in last seven Super Bowls.

That’s good for backers of the Seahawks who have only lost three times in their last 20 games as an underdog, and  are 34-15-1 ATS in their last 50 games overall. Not to mention the fact that they are 19-5-1 ATS in December or later during the last four seasons, and are 20-7-1 ATS vs. teams with a winning record.

The Patriots possess that winning record, and have put up a ton of points in doing so, but are just 4-11 ATS in their last 15 playoff games.
New England will rely heavily on its quarterback Tom Brady who is expected to led his team to the hoisting on the Lombardi Trophy,  and is currently at +175 to win the Super Bowl MVP award, while Seahawks’ QB Russell Wilson is +350.

Regardless of who wins the MVP, both QBs are expected to have a big impact on Super Sunday in terms of airing out the ball, with the over/under on Wilson set at 220.5 yards, and 262.5 yards for Brady.

The running game is going to be critical for both side, especially for Seattle , who will hope Marshawn Lynch, who is at +450 to snatch MVP honors,  can continue to hang onto the football while pounding the Pats front four, as the winner of the turnover battle in Super Bowl history has won 36 of 39 games.

An estimated $10 billion is projected to be bet on Super Bowl XLIX worldwide, with over 50 percent  of adult Americans  to have some money riding on the big games. And some of that money will be wagered on the game’s variety of proposition bets, starting with how long will it take Idina Menzel to sing National Anthem. The over or under is currently set at two minutes and 2.5 seconds.

Prop bets continue with the coin toss, with the NFC having won 15 of the last 17 tosses, which have end up exactly 24 times heads and tails in the prior 48 Super Bowls.

Other props include the color of Bill Belichick‘s hoodie, and how many times Brady’s wife Gisele Bundchen will be shown during the game (over/under 1.5 times).

Finally, what color Gatorade ( Yellow +350, Clear +400, Blue +750, Red +750, Purple +800, Green +1000, Orange +150)  will be dumped on winning coach  this season .

For the record, the Seahawks dampened head coach Pete Carroll after last year’s Super Bowl win with orange Gatorade.  A good bargain at its current offering.
